The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, executing month-end close procedures, and ensuring overall compliance with GAAP. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with federal regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements. Within a cybersecurity and software engineering environment, the Staff Accountant ensures proper accounting for labor-intensive contracts, indirect cost allocations, project cost structures, and compliance with government cost principles. This role supports a DCAA-ready accounting environment and collaborates closely with forecast, planning and analysis (FP&A), contracts, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting for federal programs.
